Riots in trashy Naples

Protests and clashes broke out in Terzigno after the local authorities decided to move ahead with plans to open a vast garbage tip in the area, where there is already a dump. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Friday said a tense dispute over garbage dumps in the Naples region will be resolved in 10 days and promised subsidies for a town at the centre of clashes.
