Between five and 10 centimetres of snow have fallen in southern parts of the country, with up to five cm in central areas. But according to one report, up to 19 cm may have fallen in The Hague, making it an exception to the rest of the country. Isolated snow showers are expected to continue for most of the day, weather forecasters say.

The temperature is expected to remain below zero all day and plunge to as low as -8 Celcius overnight, as the big freeze continues towards the weekend.
